RICEBIOTA: RICE association with beneficial microBIOTA
RICEBIOTA aims at identifying genes that enhance the positive interaction between the plants and the bacterial inoculants to produce high-performing rice genotypes that are more tolerant to tough environmental conditions.
RICEBIOTA partners are:
Università degli Studi di Milano (coordinator): Prof.ssa Vittoria Brambilla
Università degli Studi di Firenze (partner): Prof.ssa Elena Perrin
Università del Piemonte Orientale (partner): Prof. Giampiero Valé
Results that the project aims to achieve:
1) Uncovering wild rice loci and genes affecting association with Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria
2) Characterizing novel plant and bacterial genomes
3) Characterizing bacterial and plant genes expression affected during endophytic colonization and metabolic network definition
4) Functional validation of candidate genes affecting plant-PGPB associations
